Update Regarding Timekeeping Instructions 

All Employees:

We understand that you may have questions regarding best practices for timekeeping. You must continue to record time regardless of your location in a manner consistent with CP-302 Attendance and Time Distribution Reporting (https://in.ga.com/PEC/policy/CP-302.pdf) and the Employee Information Guide (https://in.ga.com/hr/pages/eig.aspx). This includes charging time accurately and complying with any applicable rest and meal break requirements for non-exempt (hourly) employees.

 How should I record my time if I use AutoTime?

 Record your time daily as you normally would, including meal breaks (for non-exempt employees).

 How should I record my time if I use the SAP Time Card entry Portal (CATS)?

  • Record your time daily as you normally would, including meal breaks (for non-exempt employees).

  • If you do not have access to CATS via VPN or our network, use our Personal Secure Access system (PSA) that will allow you to enter your time from your personal computer or personal phone. You may access PSA to enter your time using the following link: https://gaportal.ga.com/irj/portal 

  • When prompted, follow the instructions to enter your GA User ID (not your email address) and preferred PSA authentication factor to gain access to CATS. If you have not enrolled in PSA, instructions and assistance are available from the ITS Service Desk at (858) 455-4000.

  • If you use CATS, and you typically input your location zip code, you should continue to do so.

How should I record my time if I do not have access to the Internet?

  • If you use AutoTime to enter your time, contact your manager/supervisor via phone call or text and request that your manager/supervisor enter time on your behalf. If you do not have your manager/supervisor’s phone number, please call GA-ASI’s main line at (858) 312-2810 to obtain it, or contact the GA-ASI Labor Accounting Help Desk at (858) 312-2111.

  • If you use CATS to enter your time, contact Payroll at (858) 455-3730 and request that they enter time on your behalf.

  • When you are able to, certify your time as you normally would in this situation.
